Accommodation
3m x 3m tent with a comfortable bedroll (with linen) on
stretchers. Bedside table with lantern. An enclosure will be
attached at the back of tents with shower and toilet.
Meals: (vegetarian and vegan options are available)
Early breakfast- Cereals, yoghurt, rusks tea and coffee.
Brunch- Eggs, bacon, beans, fried tomato, sausage and toast.
Light afternoon snack- Cold meats, salads breads.
Dinner- 2 courses, soup and a main or a main and desert.
Drinks:
3lts of drinking water per person per day, fruit juice at breakfast
and wine at dinner. If you would like to take any extra drinks we
provide a cooler with ice.
Best activity based camping safari tours for 2024
Our safari adventure begins from Maun. Your guide will pick you up from anywhere in the central town at 3pm for a two hour drive to a permanent camp based on the edge of the Okavango Delta. The riverside camp overlooks a lovely hippo lagoon and as you arrive, dinner preparations will already be underway with a sunset soon to follow. Relax and settle in before heading to sleep with the sounds of the Okavango surrounding you.
On your second day, wake up early and have a full cooked breakfast before heading out to the mokoro station deep in the Okavango Delta. You then depart with a guide from the local community and their traditional mokoro, exploring the winding waterways ahead of you. After a couple of hours you stop on a dryer island to search for wildlife on foot, tracking the movements of animals and watching from a safe distance. Enjoy a picnic lunch in a shady area before boarding the mokoro again for your drift downstream and back to the mokoro station. You then return to the riverside camp in the late afternoon, for another scrumptious dinner and beautiful sunset.
On day three, you leave the Okavango Delta to explore the next few areas with mobile camping. Camps are set up in private BOGA (Botswana Guides Association) campgrounds. This means that you will be camping in areas well of the beaten track and far from any other other travelers in the area. The camp area is private, clean and fully serviced by a professional guide and camp staff.
The first two nights are spent in the Moremi Game Reserve with game drives taking place each day as well as a boat cruise during your full day in the region.
In Khwai you explore the mopane veld and woodlands surrounding the Khwai River. You also get to experience a short night drive during your last evening, a great opportunity to see some of the nocturnal wildlife in the area.
Finally, your last two nights are spent in the Savute area of the Chobe region before ending with a final drive through to Kasane.
We then end the safari around midday in downtown Kasane.
