Itinerary: 2 Nights Moremi Game Reserve Camping.
Day 1: Journey into the Moremi Game Reserve.
Your safari begins with a pickup from your Maun accommodation between 8:30 and 9:00 am, allowing for a relaxed start to your journey into Moremi Game Reserve. By 9:15 you are on the road, and your 2-night safari is officially underway. Game viewing starts at the Buffalo Fence, where wildlife often appears even before you reach the park gates. We arrive at South Gate before midday and immediately ease into a slow, exploratory game drive through the wildlife-rich western floodplains of Moremi. As the late morning gives way to midday, we stop for a picnic lunch in the Black Pools area, a scenic spot that offers both a break and a chance to absorb the surrounding wilderness. After lunch, we continue toward our camp in the Xiini area, arriving in the late afternoon to find your spacious Meru tents already set up and dinner preparations well underway. Our staff will have heated water over the fire to fill your bucket shower, ready for you to enjoy at your leisure. Each Meru tent includes a private rear enclosure with a bush toilet and shower, combining the charm of classic mobile camping with the comfort and privacy you need in the bush.
Day 2: The Rhythm of the Bush: Morning and Afternoon Game Drives
Your full day in Moremi Game Reserve is designed to match the natural rhythm of the wildlife and the environment. Instead of spending the entire day out, we split the experience into a morning game drive and an afternoon game drive, allowing you to be out when animals are most active. The morning excursion takes advantage of the cool air and soft light, ideal conditions for spotting predators, antelope, and birdlife across the floodplains and woodlands. As the heat builds toward midday, we return to camp for lunch and some well-earned relaxation—time to rest in the shade, read, or simply listen to the sounds of the bush. Later in the afternoon, as temperatures fall and the light becomes golden, we head out again for another game drive, ending with sundowners in a beautiful spot. This balance of activity and downtime ensures you experience the best of Moremi’s wildlife while still enjoying the comfort and atmosphere of camp life.
Day 3: Dawn Farewell: Last Game Drive and Return to Maun
The final morning of your Moremi safari begins with an early wake-up and a dawn game drive, one last opportunity to soak up the magic of the reserve in its quietest, most evocative hours. The early light often brings some of the most memorable sightings, from predators on the move to herds beginning their day. After returning to camp, you are treated to a full cooked brunch, a satisfying farewell meal in the bush as the team efficiently breaks down camp. At 11:00 am we depart from Moremi, retracing our route back toward Maun with more chances for roadside wildlife encounters along the way. You arrive back in Maun by around 4:00 pm, bringing to a close a focused yet deeply rewarding 2-night Moremi Game Reserve safari that showcases the beauty, diversity, and tranquillity of one of Botswana’s most beloved wilderness areas.
