Itinerary: 4 Nights Okavango Delta & Moremi Game Reserve Camping Safari.
Day 1: First Glimpse of the Okavango Delta
Your 4-night Okavango and Moremi safari begins in Maun with an afternoon departure at 2:45 pm, heading deep into the Daonara area of the Okavango Delta. After a scenic one-and-a-half-hour drive, you arrive at the riverside camp in the late afternoon, where the riverine setting immediately immerses you in the magic of the delta. Your guide will show you around camp and escort you to your comfortable tents, ensuring you feel at home in this wilderness retreat. As the day cools, you can enjoy a fire-warmed shower before settling in to watch the sun sink over a tranquil lagoon alive with hippos. When the last light fades, a two-course dinner is served under a canopy of stars, introducing you to the unhurried elegance of an authentic Okavango safari experience.
Day 2: Immersive Okavango Exploration
Day two is dedicated to exploring the Okavango in the most traditional and intimate way: by mokoro and on foot. You wake early to a full cooked breakfast at 5:30 am, before departing at 6:30 am by safari vehicle for the hour-and-a-half game drive to the mokoro station at Ditshiping. At around 8:00 am you glide out onto the water in a mokoro, the traditional dugout canoe of the delta, drifting through narrow channels and lily-dotted lagoons for a couple of hours of serene, water-level wildlife viewing. After this, you step onto one of the Okavango’s islands for a guided game walk, giving you the chance to observe animals and tracks in a more detailed, intimate way. A generous picnic lunch waits back at the water’s edge, where you can relax in a shady spot and soak up the stillness. At about 1:30 pm you set off on a downstream mokoro ride back to the station, followed by another hour-and-a-half game drive to your riverside campsite. A warm shower and another spectacular Okavango sunset welcome you back to camp, rounding off a day that perfectly captures the essence of an Okavango Delta safari.
Day 3: Journey into the Moremi Game Reserve.
On day three, the journey shifts from the Okavango’s waterways to the iconic landscapes of Moremi Game Reserve. You wake in your own time and ease into the morning with tea or coffee on the beach at the edge of the lagoon, watching the first light touch the water. A leisurely breakfast is served between 7:00 and 8:30 am, after which the transfer vehicle departs at 9:00 for the drive to Moremi. About two hours later, game viewing begins at the Buffalo Fence as you approach South Gate, with wildlife sightings often building even before you officially enter the reserve. Arriving at South Gate before midday, you continue on a slow, exploratory game drive through the wildlife-rich western floodplains of Moremi Game Reserve. A picnic lunch in the Black Pools area gives you time to pause, refuel, and enjoy the views before you head onward to your camp in the Xiini area. By late afternoon you arrive to find your spacious Meru tents already pitched and camp life in full swing, with dinner preparations underway and water heating over the fire for your bucket shower. Each tent features a private rear enclosure with a bush toilet and shower, creating a comfortable yet authentic mobile safari base in the heart of Moremi.

Day 4: A Full-Day Safari in Moremi
Day four is devoted fully to the wild beauty of Moremi Game Reserve, with a pace that allows you to truly absorb the environment. Instead of one long, continuous outing, the day is divided into a morning game drive and an afternoon game drive, giving you two prime windows for wildlife viewing when animals are at their most active. Between these drives, you return to camp during the midday heat for lunch and some well-earned relaxation, taking time to read, nap, or simply listen to the sounds of the bush. As the afternoon cools, you head out again, ending the day with classic African sundowners as the sky glows and the plains come alive with evening movement. This rhythm gives you a rich, layered experience of Moremi while keeping the day balanced and enjoyable.

Day 5: Final Game Drive and Return to Maun
Your final day begins with a very early wake-up for a last dawn game drive, a fitting farewell to the wildlife of Moremi. This early light often brings opportunity for special sightings, from predators on the move to antelope grazing in the cool of morning. On returning to camp, you are treated to a full cooked brunch, enjoying one last meal in the bush while the camp team quietly breaks down the tents and packs up. At around 11:00 am you depart from camp, retracing your route back toward Maun. The drive offers a final chance for roadside sightings and reflection on your journey from the Okavango’s serene channels to the game-rich landscapes of Moremi. You arrive back in Maun by around 4:00 pm, ending a 4-night Okavango and Moremi safari that blends water-based exploration, walking safaris, and classic game drives into one seamless Botswana adventure.
